On Monday, November 15, Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi announced through email that Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian will serve both the Pittsburgh and Butler districts effective January 1, 2023. Her new appointment to both districts will be effective until at least June 30, 2023. Read more about Rev. Ackley-Killian.
"God is calling us to explore new possibilities in 2023," wrote Bishop Moore-Koikoi. "We are grateful for the gifts that Rev. Ackley-Killian brings to both the annual conference and the Pittsburgh/Butler Districts as we live into the opportunities God has given us."
Rev. Eric Park currently serves as the Butler District superintendent but will transition out of this role to serve on loan to the New York Annual Conference as pastor of Christ Church UMC in New York City. His last day as the Butler District superintendent will be December 31, 2022.
Rev. Ackley-Killian and Rev. Park are working to identify an elder from each district who will be appointed part-time to assist Rev. Ackley-Killian. Bishop Moore-Koikoi asked that Rev. Ackley-Killian and the yet to be identified elder assigned to assist her be lifted in prayer.
