Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center's orthopedic team has achieved a significant milestone by completing its first high-volume arthroplasty day. This involved performing multiple total joint replacements, including complex revision surgeries, in one day. The accomplishment reflects the team's dedication to enhancing patient care and surgical efficiency.

The initiative was the result of extensive planning and coordination across various departments, including nursing, pre-op and recovery (PACU), physical therapy, anesthesia, operating room staff, sterile processing, Team Stryker, and Western PA Orthopedics. By optimizing workflows and refining surgical processes, Conemaugh has shown that high-efficiency joint replacement days are feasible and can pave the way for larger-scale procedures in the future.
