State Representative Jim Rigby has announced that several schools within the 71st Legislative District have been awarded grants by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee.

“I am glad to see several schools in the 71st District receive these grant dollars,” said Rigby. “Making sure our students are safe and have strong mental health support will improve the quality of their education. This funding will be put to good use and help our students achieve their potential in school and beyond.”

The grants, aimed at enhancing safety measures and providing mental health support, have been allocated to eight school districts: Cambria Heights School District received $123,830; Conemaugh Township Area School District was awarded $113,820; Ferndale Area School District obtained $111,948; Forest Hills School District got $131,391; Penn Cambria School District was granted $128,208; Portage Area School District received $115,160; Richland School District secured $128,517; Windber Area School District was given $122,764.
