Bishop MC Cort High School recently issued the following announcement.
PROM 2022
The Bishop McCort Catholic High School Junior/Senior Prom will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Bottle Works in Johnstown, PA. Tickets will be on sale April 25th --- April 29th in the business office. The cost of tickets is $50 per couple or $25 for an individual ticket.
ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM
Students are to arrive at Bishop McCort no later than 5:30 p.m. Strawbridge will take formal pictures at the school beginning at 5:00 p.m. They will continue to take formal pictures until the busses depart for Bottle Works. No formal prom pictures will be taken at Bottle Works.
All guests in attendance may be subject to an alcohol breathalyzer test. This testing will be conducted by a school administrator or trained health care provider at specific intervals as students enter the school before the promenade. The school will also respond and test any student or guest at the dance who appears as if he/she is under the influence. Any student refusing to be tested will be denied access to the dance and his/her parent will be called. If a student is deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they will be subject to school discipline and police involvement.
The Junior/Senior Prom is a formal event. Appropriate attire and behavior are the expectations of the evening. Dancing is to be safe and appropriate. No “grinding” or suggestive dancing will be permitted. Young men are reminded that dress shirts and shoes must be worn with the selected suit. For young ladies, only modest-cut gowns should be selected. Gowns that are too tight, short, or revealing, with excessive cleavage, bare midriffs, bare sides, and/or low open backs, or with only sheer fabric in these areas, are not appropriate for this event. All dresses should be approved by Mrs. Largent prior to the dance. Grooming and piercings for all must be in accordance with the BMCHS School Handbook. Students who are not dressed appropriately will be denied admission. Refunds will not be given to students who are denied admission due to the violation of school policy.
The purpose of these policies is to ensure and promote the safety and well-being of our students and guests, and to hopefully provide these young adults more reasons not make a poor decision. It is not our goal to set out and catch students violating the rules, but rather to protect them and help them have a night full of happy memories with their friends.
Students attending the prom must be in school, in-person the week of prom (May 2nd-May 6th) and must be present in school all day Friday, May 6thth. The signature of both student and parent is required for attendance to the dance. Thank you for your support and understanding. We are confident together we can ensure the safety of our students during this exciting time of the school year.
