State Representative Jim Rigby is organizing a seminar for businesses and organizations with liquor licenses that offer small games of chance. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company.
Rigby emphasized the need for the seminar, stating, “The laws, regulations and rules governing small games of chance can be complex, so it’s natural for local liquor license holders to have questions. This workshop is an opportunity for businesses and organizations to get answers to those questions and learn the standards set by law.”
The seminar will feature Officer Zachary Hochrein from the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, who will begin with a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Rigby noted, “Officer Zachary Hochrein from the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement will open with a presentation that will be followed by a question-and-answer session.”
Under Pennsylvania law, eligible organizations are permitted to conduct certain games such as pull tabs, punchboards, raffles, daily and weekly drawings, 50-50 drawings, race night games, and pools. The seminar will cover legal standards for these activities, outline the responsibilities of liquor license holders, and provide updates on legislation that could affect existing regulations.
Advance registration is required. Interested participants can sign up by calling Rigby’s office at 814-886-1055 or by visiting his website and clicking on the appropriate tab.
