State Representative Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) is partnering with Seniors for Safe Driving to offer a Mature Driver Improvement Course on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Solomon Run Fire Hall.

“The recent class we held in Windber was so popular that it generated a waiting list, so we decided to schedule another one as soon as possible,” said Rigby. “It’s given solely in a classroom setting and provides a good test of the rules of the road for anyone who may have lost confidence behind the wheel.”

The PennDOT-approved course is designed for seniors aged 55 and older at a cost of $17. Completing the course will earn participants a minimum 5% discount on auto insurance premiums over a three-year period.

Anyone interested in registering for the course may do so either by calling 1-800-559-4880 or going online to SeniorsForSafeDriving.com. Questions about this or any state government issue should be directed to Rigby’s Cresson office at 814-886-1055, his Ferndale office at 814-536-9818, or his Somerset County office at 1-814-509-6942.
