State Representative Jim Rigby has announced that three Cambria County water and stormwater systems will receive upgrades thanks to successful grant applications. Rigby commended the hard work of the individuals involved in the application process and emphasized the importance of these investments in the communities.

The Gallitzin Water Authority has been awarded over $446,000 for the rehabilitation of one of Gallitzin Township’s water tanks and the replacement of another. Geistown Borough will receive more than $414,000 for stormwater infrastructure improvements at five priority sites in the borough. The Reade Township Municipal Authority has been granted over $174,000 for the repair of a pressure reducing valve vault, which plays a crucial role in diagnosing sewage pumping problems.

Rigby expressed his satisfaction in being able to share this positive news with the residents of these communities. The grants were made possible through the efforts of the individuals who diligently worked on the grant applications.

The funding for these projects was provided by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development. The CFA administers Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages and requires approval from the board members. Rigby highlighted the significance of securing the necessary votes for project approval.

Residents with questions about these grants or any other state government issues are encouraged to reach out to Rigby’s offices in Cresson, Ferndale, or Somerset County.

These infrastructure improvement grants will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the communities they serve. Rigby’s announcement highlights the dedication and hard work of the individuals involved in securing these funds and the commitment to improving local infrastructure.
