Today, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) expressed his support for the recent passage of a significant legislative package. The bill aims to enhance border security, boost domestic energy production, fortify Medicaid, and prevent a substantial tax increase.

Rep. John Joyce stated, “The American people suffered for too long under the Biden administration, and today, my Republican colleagues and I delivered relief by passing President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill so that our nation can return to prosperity.” He highlighted that with the approval of H.R. 1, Congress has avoided what would have been “the largest tax hike in American history,” while also increasing funding for border security and reinforcing national security policies initiated under President Trump.

Joyce also emphasized efforts to improve Medicaid by addressing inefficiencies within the program. “By rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse,” he noted, “the Medicaid program will be strengthened so that the most vulnerable Americans among us will continue to receive the benefits that they need and deserve.”

Furthermore, Rep. Joyce expressed pride in the inclusion of his bipartisan initiative known as the ORPHAN Cures Act within this legislation. This act is designed to restore incentives for developing treatments for rare diseases like cystic fibrosis, childhood leukemia, and muscular dystrophy. According to Joyce, this measure “will give hope to millions of patients throughout the country who suffer from rare diseases.”

In conclusion, Joyce remarked on what he perceives as a new era beginning with this legislation: “Finally, with the passage of this legislation, the Golden Age of America can begin.”
