Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), has issued a statement following his vote in favor of H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The bill aims to increase public access to files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
“The American people, and the survivors of the horrible crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein, deserve full accountability, transparency, and justice,” said Congressman Joyce. “That is why I voted to support H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and why I supported the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s comprehensive investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s heinous crimes.”
Earlier in this session of Congress, Joyce supported a measure for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to open a full investigation into U.S. Department of Justice files regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
The committee has since released 65,000 pages of documents related to its investigation, including more than 20,000 materials from the Epstein Estate. Actions taken by the committee include releasing former U.S. Attorney General William Barr’s deposition transcript and issuing subpoenas for records from the Justice Department, Bill and Hillary Clinton, the Epstein Estate, and Ghislaine Maxwell.
John Joyce currently serves as a member of Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 13th district after replacing Bill Shuster in 2019. He was born in Altoona in 1957 and lives in Hollidaysburg. Joyce earned his BS from Pennsylvania State University in 1979.
