Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) has announced that he will host two free license plate replacement events in Clearfield and Centre counties. The events are intended for residents who have damaged license plates, which are defined as plates with peeling, blistering, discoloration, loss of reflectivity, or those that are unreadable from 50 feet away.
A police officer will be present at each event to determine if a plate needs to be replaced and to assist with the necessary paperwork. Once the application is submitted to PennDOT, a replacement plate with a new number will be mailed to the vehicle owner’s address. According to the announcement, individuals can keep their original registration number only if the plate was personalized or by paying an additional fee.
The first event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Patton Township Municipal Building located at 100 Patton Plaza in State College. The second event will take place on Wednesday, October 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Curwensville Civic Center at 11 Stadium Drive in Curwensville.
Senator Langerholc stated, “Anyone with a damaged license plate is invited to stop by to start the process of replacing the plate for free.”
