John Joyce, M.D., currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 13th district, has recently addressed several issues in a series of public statements on social media. Joyce, who succeeded Bill Shuster in 2019 and resides in Hollidaysburg, used his platform to comment on foreign ownership of American farmland, veterans’ affairs in Adams County, and healthcare developments in Altoona.
On July 8, 2025, Joyce expressed concern about foreign influence within the United States. In his statement he said: “We cannot allow China to own American farmland and increase their influence within our borders. Thank you @SecRollins for fighting back against this attempt by China to infiltrate our homeland!”
Two days later, on July 10, 2025, Joyce highlighted a meeting with local veterans’ advocates. He stated: “It was great to meet with the Adams County Director of Veterans Affairs Stan Clark along with Veterans Service Officers Michael Meehan and Sonny Freeman to discuss issues impacting veterans in our community. We are incredibly lucky to have such a motivated team serving our”
On July 11, 2025, Joyce participated in an event related to behavioral health services at UPMC Altoona. He noted: “Proud to join state and local officials, as well as @UPMC Altoona’s leadership team, at the unveiling of their new EMPATH Unit. This was a cross government effort to secure funding at federal, state, and local levels to improve our community’s capacity to care for behavioral”
John Joyce was born in Altoona in 1957 and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in 1979.
