John Joyce, M.D., U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 13th district, addressed several key issues in a series of posts on November 18 and 19, 2025. His tweets covered congressional oversight of artificial intelligence (AI), support for transparency regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, and commemoration of the Gettysburg Address anniversary.
On November 18, Joyce highlighted his role as a committee chair overseeing technology policy: “As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I held a hearing on the risks and benefits of AI chatbots. As AI continues to be developed and integrated into our everyday lives, it is important that we establish guardrails to ensure the safe”.
Later that day, he expressed support for legislative efforts related to the Jeffrey Epstein case: “The American people, and the survivors of the horrible crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein, deserve full accountability, transparency, and justice. That is why I voted to support H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and why I supported the House Committee on”.
On November 19, Joyce marked an important historical milestone: “On the 162nd Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, we remember the sacrifices made to preserve our nation. Lincoln’s legacy continues to inspire the freedoms we uphold.”
Joyce has served in Congress since replacing Bill Shuster in 2019 as representative for Pennsylvania’s 13th district. He was born in Altoona in 1957 and currently resides in Hollidaysburg. Joyce graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979.
