State Representatives Jim Rigby and Dallas Kephart have announced a grant of over $43,000 awarded to the Cambria County Historical Society by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC). The funds are earmarked for preserving 41 windows in the historic A.W. Buck House, which is the headquarters of the society.

“It’s incredibly important to remember where we came from,” said Rigby. “This money will allow our county historians to continue to do just that.”

Kephart remarked on the significance of this funding as a timely gift during the society’s centennial celebration: “This is a great ‘gift’ for the historical society, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. They continue to do a great job of keeping the county’s past alive for current and future generations.”

The PHMC oversees various functions related to Pennsylvania’s historic heritage through organizations like the Pennsylvania State Archives, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office.
