A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Richland Township Police Pension Plan on September 20, 2024. The request was made by us at Cambria Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The FOIA request seeks detailed information about all active and retired employees included in the organization’s pension fund for the year of 2023. Specifically, we have asked for the following data fields: last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary, compensation type, amount, year, process date, last disbursement amount, disbursement frequency and the contribution amount for 2023.

Our goal in requesting this information is to uphold our commitment to transparency and accountability in public institutions. As a media organization dedicated to reporting news to the public and holding institutions accountable for their actions and operations, access to such public records is essential.

We have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information. We await a response from the Richland Township Police Pension Plan regarding this FOIA request.
