Today, Pastor Gary Dull of Faith Baptist Church in Altoona was welcomed to the House floor in Washington, D.C., where he opened proceedings with a prayer as Guest Chaplain. Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-04), and House Chaplain Margaret Grun Kibben extended their welcome.
Pastor Dull has led Faith Baptist Church for 29 years. Prior to his prayer, he spoke with Speaker Johnson, who expressed honor at having a Baptist pastor lead the prayer during an important phase of budget reconciliation.
During his visit as Guest Chaplain, Pastor Dull explored notable sites including statues of Billy Graham and Minister John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg of Pennsylvania. He also visited the Capitol Chapel and viewed the George Washington stained glass window.
Rep. John Joyce commented on Pastor Dull’s contributions: “Pastor Dull truly embodies selfless service, and it was an honor to welcome him to Washington today… The foundation of our nation is built upon Christian values… I am proud to have had Pennsylvania’s 13th District’s deep connection with God be on display.”
Pastor Dull began preaching at age twelve and became a minister in 1968. He has served four churches in Pennsylvania and Florida before joining Faith Baptist Church in Altoona. In 1989, he founded Way of Truth Ministries, where he remains President. This organization operates missionaries across three continents and produces radio programs aired nationwide.
Additionally, Pastor Dull serves as Executive Director and Vice President of the Pennsylvania Pastors Network and is a board member of the American Pastors Network.
